Let's have an Aperitivo! It consists of drinking and eating something just before lunch or most commonly before dinner. As if it were an easy task to pick your one favorite part of Italian culture, but the practice of enjoying an aperitivo just might be it. After a long working day an aperitivo is always a good idea to lift your mood, in particular with a Spritz or Negroni; two of Italy's most popular cocktails.
Team Aperol or Negroni?
Aperitivo is one of the most common habits among Italian people and it represents an important part of Italian culture.
The Spritz is an Italian cocktail which is the symbol of the Italian aperitivo. The ingredients you will need to make it include Aperol or Campari, prosecco, soda water, a slice of orange and some ice cubes. Many Italians prefer their spritz with Aperol while others prefer it with Campari. The choice purely depends on your personal taste preferences. Aperol has a sweet flavor whereas Campari has a strong and bitter taste.
The Negroni is Italy's most other famed cocktail and favorite for an afternoon aperitivo. The ingredients you need for a Negroni are equal parts gin of choice, vermouth, and Campari.
Making a Spritz or Negroni is very easy and certainly doable yourself in the comfort of your own home. Here are a few more tips to set up an Italian aperitivo at home in UASHMAMA style....
