The monochromatic look has been a hot trend lately and we have to admit, we are into it. It’s been around for a while but seems to be everywhere these days. While the monochromatic look in neutrals has been a chic style that’s fairly easily embraced, it’s not always just about the black and white. The trend has also embraced bold, bright, and fluorescent tones as well.
The Trending Monochromatic Look
Monochrome fashion:
the practice of wearing clothes in one color or shades of one color.
One might think that a monochromatic outfit lacks creativity, but we disagree. There are endless shades and variations of every primary color, which translates into the ability to create a variety of amazing looks across one color family.
Another thing we love about this trend is how easy it is to incorporate it in both a casual, put together day look or an elevated evening look.
Some say the trend originated back in the 20’s when the iconic Coco Chanel played with her black and white designs. The idea being to make a look more sophisticated, elegant, and modern.
Part of the backbone of the monochromatic movement is minimalism. You know at UASHMAMA, we are fans of minimizing waste, stress, and excess. Monochrome fashion nearly requires you to be minimalistic in the pieces you choose and allows for the ability to easily pull from items you already own or can layer into a look without being expensive. Sure, some of the top design houses have amazing monochrome fashion pieces, but they aren’t necessary in achieving this look.
Timeless. Versatile. Achievable. These are some of the key reasons we love this trend. They are reasons that align perfectly with UASHMAMA’s ethos and our commitment to creating functional, timeless pieces that can be repurposed and used time and time again. We also fall into the camp of believing that neutrals are never out of style. So whether you like to play it safe with the white and black shades or punch it up with some color, we love this trend and are excited to offer you both neutral and colorful accessories to compliment whatever monochromatic look you’re going for!
Whether a fan of the monochromatic trend or not, we encourage you to be confident in whatever style is uniquely you. And, don't forget to tag us in your Instagram photos @uashmama.usa with #Uashmamastyle. We want to see YOUR Uashmama style!!
